    East Staffordshire

A Warm Welcome awaits you in East Staffordshire, the home of British brewing and capital of The National Forest.

East Staffordshire is a local government district with borough status in Staffordshire in England. It has two main towns, Burton upon Trent, famous for its breweries, and Uttoxeter, for its racecourse.

Villages in the area are Tutbury, Barton-under-Needwood, Rolleston on Dove, Hanbury, Doveridge.

The borough was formed on April 1, 1974 by the merger of the former county borough of Burton upon Trent with Uttoxeter urban district and Tutbury Rural District and Uttoxeter Rural District.

Located in the Heart of England, our rich history embraces the well-known historical figures of Mary Queen of Scots, Robert Peel and Henry Ferrers; brand names such as Marmite and Bass; the unique Abbots Bromley Horn Dance and traditional Well Dressing events.

SHOPPERS and visitors to the borough can feel secure about parking in the towns after three more of East Staffordshire’s Council-run car parks received the mark of approval from the Police Authority for their safety.

The recently opened Carters’ Square car park and Fairfield Road car park in Uttoxeter , plus the newly refurbished Burton Place Rooftop car park in Burton upon Trent, have now been awarded a Park MarkĀ® Safer Parking Award.

The new car parks join Burton’s High Street car park, which has held a Park MarkĀ® Award for the last two years.

Hand in hand with the industrial heritage of Burton upon Trent, you will discover some of the most beautiful countryside in the Midlands with lush fields and pretty villages, award-winning restaurants and cosy pubs alongside the River Trent and our meandering canal network.
